Book simultaneous interpreters
Are you planning a multilingual event and need simultaneous interpreters who convey content precisely and without delay? We provide experienced simultaneous interpreters – including advice, preparation and, if required, the right interpreting equipment.
Whether it is a conference, an annual general meeting or an international meeting: your content is conveyed in real time, so that all participants can follow immediately.
When are simultaneous interpreters the right choice?
Simultaneous interpreting is used when content has to be rendered into several languages in parallel and no delay is acceptable. Typical occasions:
- international conferences and specialist congresses
- annual general meetings and meetings of supervisory boards and committees
- company presentations and product launches
- works meetings and town hall meetings
- training sessions
- arbitration hearings
How simultaneous interpreting works
Interpretation takes place at the same time as the original speech. The interpreters usually work in soundproof booths and transmit their interpretation to the participants via headsets. Because interpretation runs in parallel, the timetable of your event stays the same.
Teamwork in the booth
Simultaneous interpreting requires the highest level of concentration. Simultaneous interpreters therefore work in teams of at least two per language direction and take turns about every 20 minutes. The booth partner who is not speaking is not taking a break: they look up terminology, note down figures and names, and support the colleague at the microphone. For long events or particularly demanding topics, a team of three or four may be required.
Relay interpreting for rare language combinations
Not every language combination can be covered directly. In that case, interpreting is done via a third language: one interpreter works from Polish into English, for example, and their interpretation serves as the source for another booth working into Swedish. Relay interpreting increases the delay and carries the risk of nuances being lost, so we only use it when direct interpretation is not possible.
What the name SIMCONSULT stands for
The name combines "Sim" for simultaneous interpreting and "Consult" for advice. For more than 30 years, we have supported international events with professional simultaneous interpreters – from advice and equipment to the event itself.
